Northwestern was founded in 1851 by John Evans， for whom Evanston is named， and two businessmen three lawyers， and three Methodist leaders to give higher education to citizens of northwest states.Northwestern is the only private university to hold a position as a charter member of the Big Ten. Instruction began in 1855； women were admitted in 1869.Located in Evanston， Illinois， which borders Chicago， Northwestern features easy opportunities to experience the culture of a big city.The school possesses an undergraduate body of about 8，000 students and has a somewhat more vibrant social life. Northwestern is a world-class university that includes Supreme Court justices， Presidential nominees， and Nobel laureates in the ranks of its alumni.

Kellogg School of Management： Its academic programs are highly respected， especially its Kellogg School of Management， founded in 1908， which is considered to be one of the top business programs in the United States. The school offers a part-time MBA program with evening and Saturday class options. Students who choose to attend all classes on Saturdays can complete the program in two and a half years， taking two classes per quarter. Part-time students can choose to attend some evening classes with full-time MBA students. Majors includes analytical consulting， decision sciences， international business， management and strategy， finance and marketing.
